It was a big night for Monroe hometown boy Tyler Hubbard in Nashville on Nov. 6.
With their mothers watching from VIP seats, Hubbard and partner Brian Kelley of the hot new country music duo, Florida Georgia Line, took home two Country Music Association Awards. As well as winning Song of the Year and Duo of the Year, Florida Georgia Line performed with Luke Bryan and their new song, “Round Here.” The duo spent time in Monroe earlier this year making the video for the song.
Congratulations poured in on Hubbards Facebook Page, including this one from Maureen Wilkie, “Way to go FGL!!! 2 more CMA awards. Tyler Hubbard you make the whole city of Monroe so proud!! Congratulation!!!!”
The duo is already looking to 2014 where they are in line for a nomination for two People’s Choice awards. They are also still in line for four American Music Awards and will be performing at the Award Ceremony on Nov. 24. You can vote for the duo here.
