Major Donald Clark Smith, age 82, resident of Monroe, GA died on August 26, 2014. He was born in Beulah, Alabama on May 17, 1932 to the late Mary McCain Smith and the late Benj Barber Smith. He retired From the United States Air Force in 1971, after serving 20 years of service as a Regular officer where he was awarded numerous medals with the highest being The Bronze Star. He graduated from The University of Nebraska at Omaha with a degree in Political Science then went on to obtain his doctorates degree of Jurisprudence from John Marshall School of Law in Atlanta, GA.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Hines Smith of Monroe; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Gay and William Chris Argo, sons and daughter-in-laws: Don and Adela Smith, Benj and Elizabeth Smith along with two sisters Shelby Campbell of Columbus,GA and Bennie Dorough of Valley, AL; eight grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
