The latest Walton County Sheriff’s Office Community Alerts include a hit and run and attempts by police to stop a vehicle on Highway 78 with driver asleep at the wheel. Burglary Attempt- A burglary was attempted at a business on Hwy 138. Walton County Deputies checked business. No entry made. Key holder notified.
Safety Checkpoint – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Bearden Rd. and Frank Camp Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.
Extra Patrol- Extra patrol was requested in Crystal Brook Subdivision due to suspicious vehicle in the cul-de-sac in the early morning hours.
Safety Checkpoint – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Hwy 11 and Nicholsville Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. Brandon Butts was arrested for
Possession of Marijuana less than one ounce as a result of the safety check.
Vicious Animal – Mercy Sierra was cited by Animal Control for Animal at Large at a residence on Waverly Way.
Theft Report – Tools were reportedly stolen from a residence on Eliza Doster Rd. Extra patrol was requested during night time hours due to theft.
Illegal Dumping- In the area of Old Athens Hwy near City Limits of Monroe tires were reportedly dumped in the creek.
Extra Patrol- Extra patrol was requested on Blackberry Cove off of Paul Burson Rd. due to vehicles traveling around gate and onto her property.
Suspicious Person- Between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. two black males with hoodies were reportedly seen walking around a business in the area of Nathan Blvd. Area checked. No contact made.
Arrest- Daniel Laurance Miller was arrested for an outstanding Probation warrant at a residence on Nathan Blvd.
Hit and Run Accident – Subject was reportedly run off the road by a black, Ford F150 Quad Cab with a “G” in back window reportedly being driven by a white male. Incident occurred in the area of New Hope Church Rd. and Garrett Rd.
Chase – Walton County Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Hwy 78 and Bay Creek Church Rd. due to the driver being asleep behind the wheel and the vehicle blocking the slow lane in this area. Vehicle fled area when approached by Deputies.
Vehicle came to stop after striking another vehicle. Driver was found to be having a medical episode. (Get the full story here on Loganville Local News)
Threats – Subject was reportedly threatened by her neighbor while dropping kids off at school.
Suspicious Vehicle- Several vehicles reportedly speeding and driving reckless through a neighborhood at all hours of the day in the area of Broadnax Ct.
Suspicious Vehicle – A vehicle was reportedly parked at the entrance to subdivision in area of Cedar Way. Walton County Deputy made contact with driver. Everything okay.
