The City of Monroe is offering a fix to Oconee County for some of its Internet problems.
According to Oconee resident and publisher of Oconee County Observations, the fix offered by the City of Monroe will bypass the two commercial providers of Internet service in Oconee County. It will be able to provide Internet service to about 80 or 90 percent of the homes in Oconee County that are currently without the service.
Brian Thompson, director of electric and telecommunications for the city of Monroe will present the City of Monroe’s solution to Oconee’s Internet problems to the Oconee County Board of Commissioners at the Commission meeting on Tuesday.
