Bostons, BBQ and Blues

Blues, BBQ and Boston Terriers headed for Monroe this spring.

For the second year, the Rescue Ranch Pups, Inc., a pet rescue organization, is hosting a Bostons BBQ and Blues Festival in Monroe as a fundraiser.

“The event benefits the Rescue Ranch, a nonprofit rescue dedicated to saving Boston Terriers and their four-legged friends,” said Renee’ Ussery. “The rescue is located in Rutledge, GA but covers the entire state.”

Featured bands include The Kris Youmans Band, The Hardy Boyd Band, The Apolstles of Bluegrass, Alchemy, the Lance Mapp Trio and Marlia Fontaine-Weisse.

The Festival is from 2 – 8 p.m. on May 16 at  Fuzions in Monroe.

“The festival will include a boston butt cookoff, live blues, bluegrass and southern rock music, as well as local vendors,” Ussery said. “The event is open to all ages and will include children’s games as well as plenty of boston terriers that are available for adoption.”

Online registration for the BBQ cookoff is available at Mark your calendars.
