Abandoned vehicles, DUI, stolen prescription drugs and more in WCSO Alerts

Both parties reportedly left the scene of an accident, another vehicle was abandoned after being stuck in the mud while mud bogging and yet another fled after wrecking and was tracked down and charged with driving under the influence. These and the following incidents were in the Walton County Sheriff’s Office Community Alerts for Feb. 25 – 26, 2015.

Zone 1
Nothing reported.

Zone 3
Found Property – Resident owner reportedly found a bicycle inside her fence at a residence on Jacks Creek Rd.

Zone 4
Theft – Lortabs were reportedly taken from a residence on Partain Rd.

Arrest – Latwon Dukes and Edward Dukes were arrested for Disorderly Conduct at a residence on Summerset Place following a dispute.  Alisha Dukes was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Barrow County.

Suspicious Vehicle – A 2001 white, Chevrolet Silverado and a 1994 white, Geo Metro were found abandoned after being involved in an accident on Mountain Creek Church Rd. and Hwy 11.  No contact with any owners.  Scene turned over to Georgia State Patrol.

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Perry Smith Rd. and Jack Glass Rd.  Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.   One arrest as a result of the safety check.

Zone 5
Arrest – Michael Thurmond was arrested at a residence on Parkway Dr. for an outstanding Child Support incarceration order.

Theft – A Control Box for a scissor lift was reportedly stolen on Bay Creek Church Rd. at the new Loganville Middle School.  Incident occurred within the past three days.

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Bold Springs Rd. and Charleston Ave.  Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.   Two arrests as a result of the safety check.

Arrest – Russell Burks was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Douglas County at Hwy 81 and Bold Springs Rd.

Suspicious Vehicle – A black, Dodge Dakota was reportedly left in the area of Hwy 78 and Troy Smith Rd. due to getting stuck in the mud while attempting to mud bog.
Driver should return next date (02/26/15) to retrieve vehicle.

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Hwy 11 and Nicholsville Rd.  Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.

Juvenile Problem – A juvenile was reportedly shooting a BB gun in the front yard of a residence on Hillside Rd.

Arrest – Kyle Glass was arrested for DUI and Duty Upon Striking Fixture in the area of Bold Springs Rd. and Sandra Way.

Zone 6
Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Green Rd. and North Sharon Church Rd.  Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Kathleen Lane and Old Hwy 138.  Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.

Arrest – Raymond Conley was arrested for DUI and Failure to Maintain Lane following being involved in an accident and fleeing on foot from deputies in the area of Marce Camp Rd. and S. Smith Rd.

Abandoned Vehicle – A gray, 2005 Ford Explorer was reportedly abandoned in area of Hwy 78 and Youth Monroe Rd.  Vehicle had no insurance.   Vehicle was towed from area by Eastside Towing.

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Hwy 20 and Thompson Rd.   Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on North Sharon Church Rd. and Green Rd.  Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.

Zone 7
Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check Emmett Still Rd. and Kent Rock Rd.  Deputies checked for the required driving criteria:  valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.
