If your commute takes you through downtown Winder in Barrow County, expect detours next week for maintenance on the CSX Railroad.
According to a press release from Georgia DOT, Monday, June 1 through Wednesday, June 3 the railroad crossing in Downtown Winder at North Broad Street/State Route 11/53 will be closed around the clock. The signed detour route will direct traffic from North Broad Street to State Route 211 to Horton Street to SR 8/US 29 and back to Broad Street.
The following week, Monday, June 8 through Wednesday, June 10 the railroad crossing on State Route 211 in Statham will be closed around the clock. The signed detour route will direct traffic from SR 211 to Railroad Street to 8th Street to SR 8/US 29 back to SR 211.
CSX Railroad will be doing the maintenance and lane closures. If work finishes early, lanes will open early.
