Obituary and funeral service: Myra Lee Holsclaw Pitts, 59, of Monroe

Screen Shot 2016-01-01 at 1.52.43 PMMyra Lee Holsclaw Pitts age 59 of Monroe, GA, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2015. Myra was predeceased by her husband, Bobby Pitts. She is survived by sisters, Beth Sheahan of Moultrie, GA, Faye Murphy of Moultrie, GA and Lisa Holsclaw of Cincinnati, OH; brother, Lem Holsclaw and his wife, Lee, of Irmo, SC; nieces Dana Holsclaw and Dona Milinkovich of Tallahassee, FL and Sara Clark and her husband, Ben, of Indianapolis, IN; step daughter, Robin Pitts Butler and her husband, Mark, of Lawrenceville, GA; step son, David Pitts of Atlanta, step daughter- in-law, Kim Pitts of Smyrna, GA; sister-in-law, Barbara Sue Hendrix’s and her husband, Tom, of Peachtree City, GA; three grandchildren, Savannah and Shelby Butler and Jacob Pitts.

Myra died on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at Emory University Hospital. Daughter of the late Bronston Yetman “Red” and Sara Vess Brooker Holsclaw, she was born on August 10, 1956, in Atlanta, GA. She graduated from the University of Georgia and was employed as a Customer Service Associate with Peachtree Medical Billing. Myra was an active member of Bold Springs United Methodist Church and served as the choir director. Myra was a devout Christian, amazing care-giver, wonderful wife, awesome grandmother, great listener and animal enthusiast. Her beautiful smile and laughter will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank Myra’s neighbors, church family and work family for their daily love and support of Myra, especially during her illness.

Homecoming services for Myra Lee Holsclaw Pitts, 59, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 4, 2016, at Bold Springs United Methodist Church, 7625 Bold Springs Road, Monroe GA 30656 conducted by the Reverend Michael Devine. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2015, at Tom M. Wages Funeral Home, 3705 Highway 78 West, Snellville GA 30039. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Bold Springs United Methodist Church, 7625 Bold Springs Church Road, Monroe, GA, 30656.
