Teen Talk debuts on Your Local News in 2016

An exciting new feature for Your Local News in 2016 is Teen Talk. Teens from the local area will be sharing news, events and conversations that are important to them. Some of them will be first time voters in 2016 and will be able to share their perspective on the presidential campaign as well as local issues that are important to them as the new generation of voters.

A very talented team of students from local high schools has already signed up to bring this platform to Your Local News. As well as the stories, photographs and conversations they will be sharing on Loganville Local News and Monroe Local News, Teen Talk will have its own Facebook Page.

We will be introducing this talented group of teens to you as we launch this program. We introduced Loganville High School junior Theodora Sandulescu on Loganville Local News and are introducing Adoris M. Gibbs here on Monroe Local News.

Adoris is a junior at Social Circle High School who has an interest writing and photography. She is considering a college major in creative writing, and possibly journalism. Adoris was involved in her school’s yearbook last year, which won first place in the American Scholastic Press Association.

My name is Adoris M. Gibbs.  I would describe myself as an athlete, reader, writer, big sister and foodie. I am a part of  Social Circle High School’s 2017 graduating class. I participate in several clubs at my school. Some include FCCLA, Student Government Association, Math Club, Literary Team, and Beta Club. I currently play for the Rockdale Youth Soccer Association (RYSA) and my school’s varsity soccer program. I run varsity cross country, even though I question myself  ‘why’ every time I lace up my shoes.  I am active in my youth group at church and I enjoy learning about God’s amazing Word. I am thrilled to be a part of Teen Talk! This helps me participate in another favorite past time: talking.
