2 Walton County athletes headed to Div. II World Series Softball Tournament

Two college students from Walton County are going to the Division 2 World Series Softball Tournament in Denver, Colo. this week. Both woman attend Armstrong State University and were on the No. 16-ranked, second-seeded Armstrong State University softball team  that won Thursday night against top-seeded and defending NCAA Division II national champion University of North Georgia on Thursday evening.
Hannah ReppertScreen Shot 2016-05-15 at 8.46.09 PM, 21, of Loganville, Ga. graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 2012 and fellow team member, Autumn Parrish, 20, of Monroe, graduated from George Walton Academy in 2014.  Reppert, daughter of Leah and Dan Reppert, is a junior and Parrish, daughter of Tracy and Derek Parrish, is a sophomore.
According to the official website of Armstrong State University, both Repport and Parrish hit home runs in Thursday night’s games, Reppert in game two and Parish hit a 2-run homer in the 8th inning, putting them ahead for the win.
The Armstrong State University Pirates open play in the tournament at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, against Humboldt State, at the Regency Athletic Complex Softball Field on the campus of Metro State University. Armstrong State advanced to the NCAA DII Softball Championships in Salem, Va. in 2013 and 2014, finishing third and tied for fifth respectively.
