Freedom Fest returns to Monroe on July 4

The annual Freedom Fest in Monroe will take place on July 4, beginning at 6 p.m. at Legion Field. The celebration wraps up with a fireworks display at dark. Everyone is invited to bring the whole family for food, fun, music and, of course, what is July 4th without the fireworks!

The event is composed of free food, music and activities courtesy of local churches. The churches set up tent sites offering free items and activities for the kids. From 6:00 PM till dark there are bands playing on the stage and the event culminates with fireworks at dark. This year The Nick Savage Band will be performing on the main stage.

History of Freedom Fest

About 10 years ago, several Walton County churches of all denominations and non-denominations represented banded together to seek out ways of expressing their love of the Walton County community and people. From that initial meeting and a lot of prayers, came GOD’s answer; Freedom Fest.

Freedom Fest is a Community Christian Festival that is hosted by the volunteers from churches and other community organizations such as FISH, The Rock Student Center and many others. In addition, we are assisted by the Walton County Fire Department who fire the Fire Works and the City of Monroe Police and Walton County Sheriff’s Departments who assist with traffic control.

The Mission of Freedom Fest is to provide a family event on the Fourth of July that allows all who come and participate in worshiping and fellowshipping while expressing our love for this country and those who serve it in our Armed Forces.
