* AT 947 PM EDT… A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED NEAR MONROE… MOVING EAST AT 15 MPH.

HAZARD… 60 MPH WIND GUSTS AND QUARTER SIZE HAIL.

IMPACT… HAIL DAMAGE TO VEHICLES IS EXPECTED. EXPECT WIND DAMAGE TO ROOFS… SIDING… AND TREES.

The National Weather Service has issued a significant weather advisory for several counties, including Walton County, until 10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2016.

A strong line of storms was along a line from near Danielsville to Good Hope, moving east at 10 mph. Winds of up to 40 mph can be expected and frequent cloud to ground lightning with heavy rain. People should seek shelter immediately. Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of light, unsecured objects. Electrical appliances should not be used unless in an emergency and localized flooding could occur in low lying and areas with poor draining.

Motorists should slow down and be prepared to possibly lose control due to hydroplaning. If water covers the road, remember ‘Turn around, don’t drown.”
