Aids Athens is seeking partners in the annual Aids Athens Walk

Press release from Aids Athens

AIDS Athens is looking for supporters to walk in the Annual Athens AIDS Walk. The walk, which will raise awareness for the HIV/AIDS community, is scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2016.

“It is Free to form a team. It would be great if we could have some teams formed from Walton County this year,” said Adriane Brown, office manager for the Walton County office of Aids Athens in Monroe.

AIDS Athens is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that exists to enhance and enrich the quality of life for those living with HIV/AIDS, as well as their friends, families and partners. The organization also seeks to effect a fundamental change in society’s attitude toward persons infected with HIV/AIDS. The prevention of the disease is the most important way to eliminate the virus all together, which is why prevention serves a primary component throughout our organization.

AIDS Athens serves the 10-county Northeast Georgia Health District. This service area includes: Walton, Barrow, Greene, Clarke, Jackson, Morgan, Oconee, Madison, Elbert, and Oglethorpe counties. When you support AIDS Athens, you are supporting a large portion of Georgia as well.

Each year AIDS Athens makes it a priority to raise awareness and funding through our AIDS Walk around the University of Georgia campus and downtown Athens, Georgia. The walk will be a fun, interactive, and engaging experience for all ages. We encourage your family, friends, and employees to create a team and walk to make a difference within the community that we all love.

We need your help and support more than ever to ensure that this year’s walk will inspire our community to further AIDS Athens’ mission to serve the needs of the HIV-positive and prevent the spread of the disease in Northeast Georgia. Please consider AIDS Athens if you have dollars remaining in your 2016 budget and, if not, please include us in your 2017 corporate giving plan.
