Monroe PD Reports: Crowd of juveniles reported to be in streets threatening motorists

Monroe PD responded to the following calls between  Nov. 11 – 17, 2016. This report is split into five parts due to the length. This is the second post for this period. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Damage to Property, Plaza Dr., and Rear vent window of complaint’s vehicle was broken between the hours of 10pm last date and 2pm today.
  • Domestic, Birch St., Anonymous caller advised a male and female on location yelling from within this address. Contact made with female subject, who advised her husband is not home.
  • Information, Bridgeport Lane. Complainant believes her mother was murdered in Jones County by her boyfriend – name given and requested documentation from MPD of their recent disputes. No incident reports located, just call history from 9-1-1 center. Advised to seek open records request. Complainant advised the coroner in Jones County ruled the gunshot wound to her mother’s chest as a suicide.
  • Entering Auto, McDaniel St., McDaniel Tichenor House. Complainant advised someone entered her vehicle last date and stole approximately $400 in cash along with her maroon wallet, containing her driver’s license and social security card.
  • Shoplifting, S. Broad St., Two juveniles banned from location for 1 year. One of the juveniles was listed as missing juvenile out of the county. He was turned over to WCSO.
  • Burglary, Walker Dr., mother thinks that her son broke into her house while she was shopping and took an iPad. No serial numbers available. Theft by taking report completed.
  • Fight, Plaza Dr., Ref to two black males in the parking lot fighting. One subject got in a vehicle with a female and left the area. Made contact with mother and she advised that it was her son and daughter playing, not fighting. Complex manager advised that she would handle the disturbance with the tenants.
  • Juvenile complaint, Ash Ln., Ref to several black juveniles in the road will not let cars pass thru. Also advised that they were threatening to shoot the vehicles and bust out the windows. Made contact with a large group and sent them on their way.
  • Loud music area of Baron Dr – Loud music coming from the cul-de-sac. Made contact and advised to turn the music down.
  • Damage to property, Harris St., Ref to a vehicle that ran over female subject trashcan, newspaper box and sign. Report taken.
  • Missing person, Towler St., mother advised that her 16-year old daughter was not home when she got home. Daughter was located in a vehicle having sex with Morris Dunn. Arrested Dunn for public indecency and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Daughter was charged with public indecency and released back to her mother.
  • Fight, W. Marable St., Anonymous caller advised that a named male subject was beating his baby’s mama. Made contact with both subjects. There was no evidence of the two fighting. On arrival, several subjects left the area and no one knew anything.
  • Control substance problem @ Fuzions – Ref to a black male with marijuana. Subject left the area before arrival.
  • Domestic dispute, S. Madison Ave., Ref to male subject on location. Subject was gone when officers arrived. Warrants taken on male subject for Simple Battery (FV), Battery (FV) and Cruelty to children (3rd).
  • Suspicious person, Spring St/Broad St., Made contact with male subject who advised that he was at Fuzions and his ride left him and went back to Athens. Transported subject to Huddle House to arrange transportation back to Athens and to stay warm while waiting on ride.
  • Traffic stop, Walmart, attempted to stop a black Honda on N. Broad St. The vehicle continued on to Hwy 78W, then to Hwy 138 and finally stopped in the parking lot of Walmart. The driver, Demacion Rivers, said that he was trying to get female passenger to the hospital due to her being pregnant and having pains in her stomach. Arrested Rivers for driving without a license and failure to maintain lane. Female passenger was assessed by EMS and then drove the vehicle away.
  • Domestic dispute, Dean St/Booth Dr., two subjects were driving each other’s vehicles. Female did not know where male was. On arrival male was back. No crime was committed. Parties were separated.
  • Suspicious vehicle, W. Creek Cir., Ref to a passenger vehicle that backed in to the yard across the street. Complainant advised that no one should be on location. Two subjects in vehicle sleeping.
  • Missing Juvenile, Masters Dr., and grandmother advised her ten (10) year-old grandson was missing. It was later discovered through investigation and searching multiples locations, the Juvenile was picked up by his mother during the night hours, who failed to tell anyone.
  • Meet in Person, Reed Court, complainant advised she was sold fake cigarettes at Matson Food Mart so she contacted Fox5 News, who advised her to call the police. She believes the cigarettes are fake because the box doesn’t say “cigarettes” and they taste awful.
  • Domestic, G.W. Carver Dr., George Walton Homes. Two subjects were involved in a physical altercation. One subject left the residence prior to officer’s arrival. Warrant to be taken for simple battery – family violence.
  • Hit and Run, East Spring St., Two (2) vehicles, one (1) left the scene. No reports of any injuries.
  • Mental Subject, South Broad St., subject having PTSD issues. Given an escort to Clearview Regional Medical Center for an evaluation.
