Monroe PD Reports: Search of teen’s car reveals realistic airsoft gun, bandana and ski mask

Monroe PD responded to the following calls between  Nov. 11 – 17, 2016. This report is split into five parts due to the length. This is the final post for this period. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute, West Spring St., Kentucky Fried Chicken. Black passenger car circling parking lot asking for more food, comp advised females in car shouted racial slurs at them and advised they had gun. Comp on phone with manager and advised they were fine, vehicle was gone when officers arrived.
  • Suspicious person, West Vine St., complainant advised someone shook his door handle and he heard noises. 10-66 area with negative contact.
  • Stopping suspicious vehicle, Sorrells St. and Booth Dr. Iassia Smith arrested for Monroe failure to appear warrants and stop sign violation.
  • Disturbing the peace, Alcovy St., Recently evicted tenant doing doughnuts in the front yard, Gone in pick up down Breedlove Dr. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Disturbing the peace, Alcovy St., complainant advised same person is now back on location playing loud music. No loud music but contact made. Advised to keep it down.
  • Suspicious vehicle, Baker St., Possible Red pickup sitting with its lights on going towards East Spring. Area checked with negative contact
  • Domestic problem, Magnolia Ter., Caller advised she was hit by male subject. Day shift already filed report, no new incident tonight, all ok.
  • Dispute, Pine Park St., male subject on location made fire in the grill. Contact made with subject, all ok.
  • Fight call, Shamrock Dr., male subject requesting to go to jail for property damage inside of the residence, however all present family advised they damaged the house together because they were upset about hearing about their daddy.
  • Welfare Check, West Spring St., Clearview Regional Medical Center. Male subject sitting in waiting room all night. Subject given an escort to the West Spring Street Waffle House to wait for a ride.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Double Springs Church Rd., Monroe Area High School. Disrespectful student towards school staff and administration while in class. Mother was called to pick up student.
  • Bomb Threat, East Church St. False call… Subject patient of mental health facility and arrested after being evaluated at the hospital.
  • Suspicious Vehicle on Mill Stone Bluff. Caller advised an unknown vehicle was in their driveway. Vehicle appeared to have mechanical problems and was towed from location.
  • Found Property, East Tall Oaks Drive, caller advised a bicycle was found in the woods earlier this date. The owner retrieved the bicycle and an unknown black male attempted to take the bicycle from the owner’s back door. Attempted to locate male subject with negative contact.
  • Assault, West Spring St., Clearview Regional Medical Center. Mother advised her son pushed her down last date around 1800 hours. Warrant to be taken for simple battery.
  • Dispute, East Spring St., Taylor’s Wrecker Service. Civil matter over property in vehicle. Situation mediated.
  • Fraud, South Broad St., John’s Supermarket in reference to a black female attempting to cash a fraudulent check.
  • Assault, South Madison Ave., Walton County Sheriff’s Office, complainant advised named male subject physically assaulted her. Not a domestic and there were no visible signs of an assault. Advised of warrant process
  • Entering Auto, South Madison Ave., Incident occurred last date between 2000 – 0600 hours. Cash and miscellaneous items stolen from vehicle.
  • Juvenile complaint on West Spring Street at Bankers Boulevard. Juveniles on school bus refusing to listen to bus driver. Administration from Transportation department rode on bus to finish route.
  • Juvenile Complaint on East Church Street at Tall Oaks Drive in reference to small juveniles playing close to the roadway, unsupervised. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Escort by MPD; Bomb Threat suspect transported to the Jail.
  • Panhandling, Downtown Monroe, female subject on bike told to stop panhandling and she was sent home.
  • Suspicious Person, E. Church St., black male walking door to door.  See below
  • Prowler, E. Church St., Comp advised someone knocked on the door and then started peering in the windows.  A black male was identified. Going door to door selling cleaning supplies, advised that he needed a permit.
  • Suspicious Person, Michael Cir and Overlook Crest.  Female subject in the area asking for a car ride, negative contact.
  • Domestic problem, Nowell St. recreation center; Comp/Employee was asked to leave over an illegal substitution. Coach was asked to leave.
  • Illegal Parking, Pine Park Street and Mears St; Comp had questions about a big tractor trailer on property
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Alcovy St., Security Guard advised a white male that lives across the street drove down Breedlove shining a flashlight, negative contact after area checked.
  • Loud Music x 3, Douglas St., Comp is having an 18 wheeler in playing loud music, not in violation.
  • Burglary in progress on Ford St., Residence checked, no sign of burglary attempt, all ok.
  • Stopping suspicious vehicle/chase on foot at GW Carver Dr., subjects bailed from a traffic stop and got away heading into wood line from Launius Ave.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Green St.,  Silver Ford Escape, likely same vehicle that fled Launius Street during area check from previous chase.  Vehicle occupied by 16-year-old male, he was cited for Taillight requirements, and Driving on a class D, After searching juveniles vehicle, realistic airsoft guns, a ski mask, and a red bandana were found.
  • Firearms Discharged, Magnolia Terrace Area, negative contact with anyone in the area after extensive area check.
  • 911 Hang-up, Parkway Place; Juvenile complaint filed against and unruly 7 -year-old….yes a 7 year old.
  • Stopping suspicious vehicle, Spring Street and Banker’s Blvd; Juvenile from above stop was stopped again driving in violation, charged with Curphew Violation and another driving on class D violation.  Mother contacted and turned him and her vehicle over to her.
