Fire destroys house in Monroe, Ga. overnight

Walton County Fire Rescue reports that a house fire overnight at 2230 Harry Arnold Road (corrected) in the Monroe area of the county totally destroyed a house.
“It was fully involved on arrival and was a total loss,” said WCFR Battalion Chief Craig League. “The house was vacant at the time of the call. The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
League said the call was dispatched at 02:54 a.m. and when firefighters arrived the home was already on the ground. He said, according to the owner, nobody was supposed to be on the property at the time. It is possible that squatters were staying on the property.
