Locals offer helping help for Georgia’s tornado victims

There are several organizations collecting relief items for tornado victims in south Georgia with various pickup locations as listed in the earlier story.  These items need to be in by this weekend. However, if you can’t make that deadline, some members of Graystone Church are also collecting and will be delivering a trailer of goods on Feb. 11.

Items can be dropped off at the Walton County campus at 723 N. Broad St. in Monroe Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m., Thursdays from 9 – 11 a.m. or Sundays from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Items also can be delivered to the Grayson Fit Boot Camp at 2301 Loganville Highway, Grayson, Monday through Saturday during business hours. There will be a trailer at the Graystone Walton County Campus on Saturday, Feb. 11 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tammy Clower is the contact and she and her husband will be delivering the items personally.

“I will be loading a trailer for the tornado victims in Albany, Ga. Below is a list of items I was told they are in need of by the pastor of New Seasons Church in Albany, Ga. His name is Dr. Marcus Glass,” Clower said.

  • under garments
  • all sizes, all kinds of socks
  • mens and boys underwear
  • women and girls panties, bras, etc
  • baby food
  • baby formula
  • dog and cat food
  • toiletries
  • blankets
  • feminine products

This is just a list, but no items of benefit will be turned aside. If you wish to make a financial donation, include a self addressed envelope and details of the amount and you will be mailed a receipt for tax purposes.
