Human remains found in NE Georgia

Commerce, GA.  The Georgia Bureau of Investigations reported that human skeletal remains were discovered in a wooded area near the intersection of Georgia Highway 59 and Highway 63 in Banks County on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017. They were discovered by an individual who contacted the Banks County Sheriff’s Office, who asked for assistance from the GBI.

The remains are being sent to the GBI Crime Lab for further examination.  At this time the identify of the remains is unknown and a search of the area is going conducted.
